This house is a contemporary take on the quaint Carmel cottage.  Simple forms wrap around a central courtyard, affording sunlight and privacy that are almost unimaginable in dense, wooded Carmel-by-the-Sea.

The interiors are simple but finely detailed, with warm vaulted ceilings clad in lightly glazed wood, smooth wood plank floors, leathered stone countertops and matte brass accents.
